We are living in the maximum Information Age. Never before has it been easier to get answers to any question. You can even have AI write your entire novel or song. Just put in your prompts, and off it goes. Want a 500-page thriller? A “how-to-do-everything” book? You can generate it instantly. AI can even create a song—just enter a prompt: hip-hop vocal, fast beat, deep bass, and the most perfect melody ever written. It’s all possible today.
But is that what you really want to do? If so, great for you. But when it comes to creating something unique, building an audience around it, or developing a sellable product, it’s not that easy. If you don’t have foundational skills in your craft, AI and ChatGPT won’t magically turn you into a sustainable artist or entrepreneur. They’re tools, not substitutes for expertise, creativity, or years of dedicated work.
Now, AI can help you in a major way. Almost every website and platform has AI built in to assist you. I use it every day. But when it comes to your root idea—the core of your skill set—you need to create that first. Then, let AI help you organize and refine it. We, as humans, are still more important than AI, at least for now. If we rely too much on AI for our core ideas, we risk losing touch with our own identities and creative potential.
I get it—some people seem to blow up overnight. You see someone start an Instagram page, and six months later, they have a million followers and a full-time income. But let’s be real: that’s not the whole story. More often than not, they had a foundation—skills they built long before they hit “post.” I’d love to see someone with zero skills build a sustainable career from nothing, especially in the arts or product world, where depth, originality, and mastery matter.
That’s why I’m here to tell you: sink your teeth into something real. A skill. And put in the hours, the years, and the grind necessary to create true art. If you’re feeling lost, scrolling Instagram for inspiration might actually be dragging you backward, disconnecting you from your own identity and potential.
This is something I’m seeing more and more, and it saddens me. People chase trends instead of building something real. In my opinion, the right order of operations is this: develop a skill, create a product, then learn how to market and sell it. Too many people skip the first two steps, obsessing over social media without understanding the foundation they need to build.
